Todd Valley Farms Fertilizer

 

All of the Fertilizers below are available for purchase at our office in Mead.

 

We can apply a starter fertilizer for you when installing your new sod.

 

We can also deliver the starter fertilizer and the 4 or 5 Step Program with your sod.

 

 

Starter Fertilizers

 

Sod or Seed Starter Fertilizer - Slow release fertilizer

Will give your lawn proper, well rounded nutrients for quicker establishment and healthier new grass.

 

10-10-10 - 16 lb bag covers approx. 3000 sq ft

12-12-12 - 50 lb bag covers approx. 10,000 sq ft

 

Seed Starter Fertilizer w/ Pre-emergent

Fast release fertilizer plus crabgrass preventer. Will give your seed proper, well rounded nutrients for quicker establishment and healthier new grass with weed control for 6 weeks due to the Tupersan ingredient, while still allowing your grass seed to germinate.

 

12-24-11 w/Tupersan - 25 lb bag covers approximately 10,000 sq ft

 

 

 

Recommended 4 or 5 Step Fertilizer Program

*for Bluegrass and Tall Fescue lawns

 

Step 1  - Pre-Emergent - Apply around April 25th

Slow release fertilizer plus crabgrass preventer. A vapor barrier which lasts 16 weeks is created to control weeds before they germinate.

 

16-0-2- 25% PCSCU, .37 Prodiamine - 50 lb bag covers approx. 10,000 sq ft

 

Step 2  - Spring Fertilizer- Apply around May 20th

Slow release fertilizer. Provides nutritional support throughout the summer months.

 

18-0-3 - 50% XRT, 4% Iron - 50 lb bag covers approx. 10,000 sq ft

 

Optional Step - Fertilizer with Grub Control - Apply around July 15th

Slow Release fertilizer plus summer long grub control.

 

15-0-0 - 20% XCU, .2% Merit - 50 lb bag covers approx. 10,000 sq ft

 

Step 3 - Late Summer Fertilizer  - Apply around September 10th

Slow Release fertilizer. Promotes recovery from summer stress.

 

20-5-10 - 50% XRT, 5% Iron - 50 lb bag covers approximately 10,000 sq ft

 

Step 4  - Fall Fertilizer- Apply around October 20th

Quick Release Fertilizer. Promotes storage of carbohydrates for use next year. Important for health the following summer.

 

20-10-5 - 50 lb bag covers approximately 10,000 sq ft

 

 

 

*For Buffalograss, follow Step 1 & Step 2. Step 3 is optional and should be applied around July 1st.  Other steps are not required.
